05: A Book I Want To Live In

secret7The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

‘If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.’

I want to be a child again. I want to be friends with Dickon and have him teach me all kinds of amazing things about nature. I want Martha and Ben Weatherstaff as my mentors in life. I want a secret garden of my very own. When I was younger I was convinced I would find it, one day. I never did.

‘And the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles.’

  1. I loved this book, one of my favourite books I read as I child! Another book I also adored as a child was The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge. It has that same ability of creating a world and sucking you into it. I love reading this series of posts – it’s really interesting to hear about your experiences with all of these books.

  2. Such a beautiful story. It would be so nice to have a secret world to escape to. I guess I’ll have to make do with those that books like this take me into.

I love to read comments, so please share what's on your mind! I try my best to reply. If you want a quick response to a question please tweet me @emdawgb :)
