Girl Crush: Regina Spektor

I don’t know if it’s possible to not have a crush on Regina Spektor. I love her music, her crazy curly hair, and the fact that if you google image search her name you are shown a happy, healthy looking woman, whether she is giggling, posing, or crooning into a microphone. Her songs are weird (Music Box), uplifting, depressing (Buildings), adorable (Folding Chair), terrifying, sometimes completely mind-blowing.

She’s been skipping days, spilling her drinks in the sink / And you know she’s never coming home, never coming home again / But when, when, when she opens her eyes, eyes, eyes / Beyond the chipping paint through the window pane / Lies, lies, lies / Her patron saint, broken and lame – Patron Saint

  1. Utter girl crush. Her music is brilliant and what you said about her being a happy and healthy woman really resonated with me and why I love her. Similarly Caitlin Moran said about Florence Welch on X Factor the other night that it’s night to see a woman performing on TV wearing a full outfit and not gyrating about being taken over the back of a sofa in a club!
