What I Ate Wednesday #2

I’ve decided that I like this game and I’m going to play properly. Even though I’m not a food/healthy eating/healthy living blogger, I guess I’m still allowed. I like to eat all variety of things, I like to take (admittedly not very good) photos of what I eat, and I like to share it with people who may or may not care.

Huge salad consisting of iceberg lettuce, bag salad, black and green olives, gherkins, red green and yellow peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, wasabi peas, prawns, and Tesco light choices honey & mustard dressing

Oyster delight from the ice-cream van

I asked for diet Coke and got diet Pepsi, so not cool

Pizza with a variety of meats and cheeses plus olives and peppers on my half

Another day, another beer in the sunshine

Red velvet cupcakes, Hummingbird Bakery recipe. I don't think they were as good as they could have been, due to not following the recipe properly, not being very good at baking and not having a mixer or a sieve. Still tasty though.

Banana, warm peanut butter, chocolate sprinkles. Food of the gods.

Steak ciabatta with onions and creme fraiche & mustard sauce.

Apple, peanut butter, laptop.

Salmon, salad, new potatoes, bread.

This is what I’ve eaten since last Wednesday, btw, not just today. By the looks of it I’ve been eating like a bit of a pig. I regret nothing.

I also saw this seagull outside Morrisons, but I didn’t eat it. I did feel the need to take a photo of it, though, which attracted a lot of strange looks.

  • What’s the best thing you’ve eaten recently?
  • Any stories about seeing animals in places you wouldn’t expect?

    • It’s soft serve ice-cream in a wafer shell with marshmallow inside and chocolate and coconut on the outside! You get them from ice-cream vans in England, they are pretty damn amazing! :) If you can find one where you live I would definitely recommend them on a hot day.

  1. That is the most amazing ice cream I’ve ever seen–in a shell, too cute! Mmm, banana and peanut butter is food worthy of gods, indeed! And I saw a dead peacock in the middle of the interstate once. Definitely out of place.

    • Isn’t it adorable?! Tastes good too :) Banana and peanut butter is amazing, even though a few years ago I didn’t eat bananas or peanut butter! I obviously did not know what I was missing.
Oh, that’s pretty sad! Not really the kind of roadkill you expect to see!

      • Bananas took me a while to figure out too, but PB and I go way back :D And I couldn’t even be sad about the peacock at first, there was just ten minutes of driving down the interstate thinking, “Was that a peacock??”

      • They’re quite a strange fruit, I think I had a really mushy horrible one and couldn’t eat them again for a year or so.
Haha, one of those “wait, did I really just see that?!” moments I imagine,

  2. Hmmm, best thing I’ve eaten recently…my ice cream scoops of salted caramel & soy mint chocolate were pretty yummy!

    • It was a good choice I think, I’m not sure how it would have tasted. I have a copy of Schott’s Food and Drink Miscellany which has a section that says what various things taste like (for example, baby wasps taste like scrambled egg and and bear tastes like a mix between beef and pork) but it does not tell me what a seagull tastes like. I was happier to let it carry on wandering round the supermarket car park.

I love to read comments, so please share what's on your mind! I try my best to reply. If you want a quick response to a question please tweet me @emdawgb :)
