+ Trying to use all the food from your freezer leads to amazing meals like this. In there is half a Quorn escalope, half a spring roll, peas, Laughing Cow cheese, garlic bread and spinach & ricotta tortellini. This might sound disgusting but it was pretty nice!
+ I’ve watched every episode of Miranda on Youtube
and I’m watching them all over again. So funny. Modern British comedy isn’t my favourite (for example, I despise The Inbetweeners) and I tend to favour older comedy, or American programmes like How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. Miranda has a very special place in my heart, though, and I’ve often been reduced to hysterical laughter while watching an episode in bed. A lot of people don’t like it because it is very slapstick and uses canned laughter, but you know what? It makes me laugh, and I don’t care to analyse it any further than that.
+ I’ve been reading The Call of the Weird: Travels in American Subculture by Louis Theroux and it is so good. It was a £1 charity shop buy, as are a lot of brilliant books. His writing style is smart, funny and a little bit awkward, just like his presenting style, really. Some of it sets me in a moral grey area that I really dislike being in – his attempts to ‘humanise’ (for want of a better word) Neo-Nazis, for example – but it’s good to be challenged like that.
